Live the life you deserve along with the challenges
I am finally living my dream life, that’s no doubt. But it would be a lie if I say certain things haven’t been hard. Some of the challenges are a lot harder for me to handle than others. Most, you just have to “smile and wave.”
I have been slacking on my updates. We had a busy season at work and it was really hectic. It was a good amount of running around and a good balanced out stress. When it comes to my personal life, I think I still have a lot of work left.
I need to do better on building better and healthier relationships. My new project for myself right now if finding a freelance position (any where in the world!) I want to continue getting challenged and although I’m getting that here in Ethiopia, some times is not the kind I’m looking for. (I.e. lack of internet)
I want someone to take my writing skills on a test drive… So anyone of you reading this want a writer please reach out.
Am I adulting yet?
Sad to say the answer to this is noI would much rather be renting an apartment and live on my own in a studio or something that’s Sex in the City exciting but unfortunately that’s not the life that. Once a person rents landowner can hike up the rent the next month if they want. It can be a good 2-3 thousand birr difference. Because of that fear I stay living with family.
My current challenge: Ethio-Telecom AKA Tele
This wonderful monopoly now has a new rule. You have to have your device registered prior to September 24th or else it will no longer work. And if you want it to work they would have to unlock it, which means you must pay tax on the item. Which could sound fair if you didn’t already pay taxes purchasing your electronic/phone. None the less just keep living. So now I have a device I can’t get unlocked unless I pay… all because it got here 2 days too late. Ugh moving on.Family
For those of you who know my family, everyone is doing just fine. Grams is doing well. I try and go visit her on Sundays since I don’t live with her. She is still doing her thing visiting the sick, maintaining her church society, remodeling her home, the list can go on and on. The little sister you met during my older post is now a big sister.
Oh and an interesting story for you. My co-worker Teddy and I have been working for about two months in when we found out we’re related. And I don’t mean the Ethiopian-Cousin relative, out grandmothers from our dad’s side are sister. Making us 2nd cousins. Isn’t that crazy… I thought so too.
The question everyone wants answered…
Am I coming back to the states? As of right now that’s all the way up up up in the air. But I do know that I want to come see the newest member to the family, see sisters new house, so on and so forth. But until then my friends. I will do my best to update as often as possible.
